The fight for social justice has been a never-ending battle since 1776, when the dichotomy of a country founded on racism was also founded on the declaration of  “All people are created equal.” Now in 2020 the pursuit for equality is still being fought, in recent years with the police violence and the growing political/social divisiveness, has created action for civil rights that resonate with the 1960s. On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis by the hands of police, which sparked nationwide protests and the start of a historic social justice movement. The cities of Bellingham and Seattle were part of this movement creating massive protests in continuing this long fight for justice.
